But overall, Apple iWork '08 is beautifully designed - a compelling product and great value for consumers and small business alike. And, to be sure, the process of having to export files when interacting with Microsoft Office users could get old quickly if you have to do that regularly. If you do rely on specific functions in Microsoft Excel or features in any of the Microsoft Office applications that are even slightly outside the more general types of usage, you will probably want to download the Apple iWork '08 30-day trial to ensure that the tools you need are there before buying. Advanced Word and Excel users, especially those who rely on specialised features and functions, will probably find Apple Pages '08 and Apple Numbers '08 to be limited. However, it will make your life much easier, if you make one in the future.Users comfortable with Microsoft Office may find it takes time to get used to Apple iWork '08. It is not obvious that one has to, unless one is told to. I am fully aware that not all users think about making backups.

Knowing this, one would expect the vast majority of users to make backups of their programs, so Apple did not +have to+ keep the download. Software of all kinds is pulled for different unexpected reasons from download sites of all companies. You downloaded it once, and you had the opportunity to make a backup of it, just like you hopefully wrote down the license number.Ĭomputers of all brands crash. However, neither to I see any good reason to expect them to keep it. It would have been much more decent if they had done so. I agree that there is no good reason for Apple to remove the '08 link for users who bought it.

Great business practice.legitimately purchase software which then you can't download once a new version is out - forcing you to purchase the new version (which no upgrade price is available for).
